Compendium Files for iPhone and iPad
Compendium Files puts your company file server in the Files app. It needs an account on your organisation's server — it cannot be used without one. If you do not have an account, ask whoever administers your file server.
If you already have a drive password, tap Sign in with a drive password instead and enter your username and that password. Drive passwords are issued per device, so losing a phone means revoking one password rather than changing your own.
Open the Files app, tap Browse, then the three dots at the top right, and choose Edit. Make sure Compendium Files is switched on under Locations. If it is missing entirely, sign out and back in to the app.
Pull down to refresh. If it stays empty, you may not have been given access to that folder — permissions are set per folder, so you see only what you were granted.
It should not. Play from inside the app rather than from a preview window, and check that iOS has not restricted background activity for the app in Settings → General → Background App Refresh.
Word, Excel and PowerPoint files are converted on the server before they are shown, which takes a few seconds the first time. After that they open immediately. Very large files, and file types with no preview, offer a download instead.
A drive password can be revoked by an administrator at any time — that is what it is for. Ask for a new pairing code and sign in again.
What the app stores, what the server records, and what is never collected are all set out on the privacy page.
If none of the above helps, email jcloonan@thecompendiumco.com and say which device you are using and what you were doing. We read every message.
